One morning, as I awakened from a deep sleep, I had a thought, “Why don’t you write a living book?” I was glad to hear the words, a living book. I knew exactly what the words meant. I’ve tried to read dead books. I just stared at seemingly blank pages and, after several fruitless rereads, I put the book down. 
There’s an unspoken quality when the writer is connected to the essence that underlies the words they write. This connection provides the reader with content, heart, and vitality. A living book arouses transformation. A living book speaks through words; the words are dispensable, but sturdy posts, to hold onto as we open to otherworldly insights.

I gathered my thoughts and put them into an offering. “If there’s a book to write, I’m available.” I had nothing in mind as I put pen to paper. The words flowed swiftly, as if I wasn’t present. It was short, concise, and direct. “What else is needed?” I queried. My intuition guided me to “The Extras.” The Extras consist of previously published articles and offer wisdom and encouragement for the process of awakening.

This unique Living Book provides a place to land. It answers the innate pull of our true nature and invites us to the awareness of who we are. It does not require one to follow any path nor give up their religion. It compliments any spiritual practice.

The Initiation

This is the book of life. It summons us to full awareness. It is not about living tomorrow or making a difference, because who we are already makes a difference. Our value and ability to make a difference occurs naturally, through our individual energies. Collectively and singularly, we are a valued and necessary part of the spiritual tapestry of Being.

Whether our actions or behaviors are based in blessings or fear, the higher force that sources us returns all intentions to their origins of love. This force shines a light so bright that even shadows bow their head to the enormity of this great love. We are that love. We are either aware of that love and acting from it, or we are unaware and still awaiting the privilege of awakening to the truth of our being.

This is a clarion call to awaken, to throw aside shame, guilt, and fear - to arise in the pristine nature of life. The greater “I” humbles our egoic minds and emboldens our heart. This is our inheritance.
